DORIS benefitsDORIS offers tangible benefits to Civil Protection Authorities, environmental agencies, and geological and soil surveys. DORIS contributes to increasing the awareness of the risk posed by landslides and subsidence, and on how modern remote sensing technology can help detecting, mapping, monitoring and managing risks associated to landslslide and subsidence phenomena. The downstream was presented to end users in Hungary, Italy, Poland and Spain, and a clear interest on the service exists. The service can be expanded beyond Europe, and the imminent launch of the ESA Sentinel satellites opens unprecedented opportunities for the exploitation of the DORIS services and products.
